NEAD Trust Medical Advisory Panel

One of NEAD Trusts objectives is to provide sufferers with as much support and information as possible. As such we have created the NEAD Trust Medical Advisory Panel. The MAP is comprised of highly experienced medical professionals who specialise in the fields of Neurology & psychotherapy. These doctors have generously donated their time and resources to write, review & update our articles, answer your questions and to provide up-to-date information on Non-Epileptic Seizures.

We are extremely honoured to work so closely with them and are proud to have them as our Medical Advisory Panel.

The Panel is comprised of: (click image for details)

Dr Markus Reuber, MD PhD MRCP

Markus Reuber is a Consultant Neurologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation.

“I work as a seizure specialist in the NHS and am particularly interested in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with Non-epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD).  I head a collaboration of clinicians interested in developing evidence-based treatments for NEAD for the NHS. This collaboration (the NEST group) has completed one study, is carrying out two further studies and is planning further research which will hopefully make it easier for patients with NEAD to access suitable treatment wherever they live”.

Dr Richard Grunewald, MA, DPhil, FRCP

Richard Grunewald is a Consultant Neurologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation.

“My particular clinical interests are epilepsy, movement disorders and functional neurological disorders.  My interest in non-epileptic attacks arose from my experience running the epilepsy service in Sheffield.  With the help of colleagues in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, I helped established the first specialised counselling and psychotherapy service for non-epileptic attacks in the UK.  I have also advised NICE on the development of guidelines for chronic fatigue syndrome and transient loss of consciousness and epilepsy”.
